Cut & Impact Resistant Belts
Heavy-Duty Protection Against Tramp Material Entrapment & Longitudinal Belt Ripping
Material handling in mining, scrap recycling, and demolition plants involves constant exposure to trapped metals, sharp objects, and heavy impact. When foreign tramp material gets lodged at transfer points, it can cause devastating longitudinal rips—destroying hundreds of metres of conveyor belting in seconds. The resulting downtime, production halt, and premature belt replacement costs can be catastrophic.
At Mahajan Conveyors, our Cut & Impact Resistant Belts are specifically engineered to eliminate catastrophic belt tearing and drastically lower operational risk.
How It Works: Advanced Transverse Rip Protection
To counter the extreme mechanical forces exerted by trapped metals and sharp debris, our belts are built with a purpose-engineered protection system:
A high-tensile transverse steel cord or specialised fabric breaker is embedded directly into the top rubber cover.
When tramp material wedges into the system, the transverse breaker resists the puncture force, forces out or dislodges the entrapped object, and limits belt damage to a minor puncture rather than a full-length rip.
Built with custom-engineered Nylon (NN) or EP fabric plies combined with steel/fabric breaker layers to deliver maximum wear and tear resistance.
Key Product Benefits
Exceptional Rip Resistance
Superior protection against longitudinal slitting caused by trapped metal tramp, rebar, and sharp objects.
High Impact Cushioning
Extra rubber cover resilience absorbs the shock of falling boulders, heavy ores, and concrete debris.
Standard Pulley Compatibility
Maintains natural longitudinal flexibility—requiring no modifications to your existing pulley diameters or conveyor structure.
Easy Vulcanization & Splicing
Can be spliced seamlessly using conventional hot/cold splicing tools and standard procedures.
Reduced Downtime
Eliminates catastrophic multi-metre belt tears, keeping your plant running continuously.
Primary Applications & Industry Uses
Highly recommended for installations with a history of frequent longitudinal tear failures:
| Application | Why It Fits |
|---|---|
| Cullet & Broken Glass Processing | Resists deep slicing from sharp glass shards |
| Scrap Recycling Plants & Metal Sorting | Protects against trapped metal sheets, structural steel, and sharp scrap fragments |
| Mobile Crushers & Demolition Plants | Handles heavy concrete blocks, rebar, and demolition rubble |
| High-Speed Feeders & Transfer Belts | Ideal for high-velocity unloader belts and chute transfer points |
| Steep-Incline & Profiled Belts | Available in Chevron and custom profile finishes for inclined rock and waste handling |
